Stayed in room 306. PROS: Location Historic property View from our room Friendly staff CONS: Minibar in room-we went to put waters in fridge & noticed an empty bottle. Called reception to let them know but on checkout was told we used 2 items from minibar. We used none!!! We only allowed housekeeping in once & it was right before the empty bottle was noticed. Wasn’t told when I called that it was showing we actually used 2 at that time & if housekeeping or someone checked if we used any items then, why wouldn’t it have been removed or replaced at that time? Nobody was in to check prior to checkout either, so it all seemed so shady. They definitely need to be more careful with it. So my advice would be to be sure you check it (and the snack drawer), take pics, &/ or have someone check it when you arrive, or this might happen to you. Because of this incident, we won’t stay at a hotel again if it has a minibar. It added stress & this hotel in all put a bit of a damper on our trip experience. Bed was hard as a brick - might as well have slept on the floor. Both of us woke up each day in pain. Would’ve asked to switch rooms but we feared we’d get something smaller with a less beautiful view yet equally uncomfortable bed. Carpet was disgusting-lots of stains…some quite dark. Sewage smell in reception a couple times-they tried to mask it with some kind of air freshener next day. Elevator was out of order one day. Small room with plain decor - a pic over the bed would be nice & some hooks on the wall near the door. Not really 5 star amenities-I was even told the restaurant was separate from them & I’d need to order if we needed waters….walked a block to Spar convenience store to get them & snacks. We enjoy Amsterdam but will stay elsewhere next time.

Perfect location and warm staff

We are three days into a four day pre cruise stay here and are so happy we chose this hotel. From the moment we arrived at 0730 through this moment the experience has been fantastic. The entire staff is warm and accommodating from the morning bellman who welcomed us and has been so helpful to the front desk staff including Elena Olga and Ilaria to the entire restaurant staff including Andrea. A big shout out to the bar staff who create memorable cocktails served with a flair. The rooms are lovely and the location is perfect. We are treated like old friends. The breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the canal and is replete with so many wonderful cheeses, local breads and champagne. There is a multi course dinner you can order by request. We watched it being created and it looked amazing and creatively curated.

The hotel was centrally located in the canal district and a very short walk to all sites, shops and restaurants. Uber stops directly in front of hotel. Easy in and out. Doorman very friendly and helpful. Metro station close by. Breakfast was good but pricey. Rooms clean and roomy. Water pressure good and A/C good. Canal view room. Very happy with our stay.

We had a wonderful view of the canal. We had the small room and it’s definitely small. We had a hard time getting around each other. There’s no counter space or anything in the room to put anything on and the bathroom is the same. The lobby is gorgeous. It is a few minutes walk from transportation. The staff is nice. There is an elevator. The shower has a rain shower included.

The Tivoli Doelen is a fantastic hotel with wonderful and helpful staff who really make you feel welcome. The location is perfectly central to Amsterdam as nowhere was more than a 20 minute walk away. The room was slightly small but still very nice with plenty of amenities available. They even threw in a surprise birthday present for me which was unexpected but very thoughtful of them. While a little expensive, it is a lovely hotel and well worth the money
